While attending college, Bess took voice lessons and joined the drama class, performing in the play "Blythe Spirit". She and David also performed in their college talent show receiving an invitation to become the house band for the college dances. Bess’ stage presence is cool and laid back but she can rock with a joyful intensity. She brings a confident air of enjoyment to the Little Queen Band performances, imparting that long-running love of music and performance to her audience. Bess and David opened Landes Music in The Woodlands where Bess is currently an instructor in guitar when not performing with Little Queen.

Bess Landes was born in Houston, Texas. Currently is the owner of Landes Music, guitar teacher. From a very early age Bess has been intrigued with music, especially the music of the Beatles & Heart. She began playing guitar at 7 years old. In junior high, she performed for many of the school functions and soon discovered that on stage, she was "at home" and able to express herself and her love of the arts. She joined the drama club during high school and landed several lead roles receiving award recognition. Accomplished in dance, she was also a member of the Dance Academy for several years.

Bess met her husband, David Landes, during high school and  they soon discovered their mutual interest in music. They  performed in their high school talent show together, bringing down the house with songs by Heart and Grand Funk Railroad. Bess also performed solo song & dance acts to the music of Liza Minnelli "Money, Money" and Linda Ronstadt’s "Heat Wave", receiving 1st place awards.

David’s technique will inspire you whether you are a guitar afficionado or just a fan.

David Landes  BORN: Bellaire, TX PROFESSION: Owner of Landes Music, guitar teacher, professional musician PREVIOUS BANDS: 1976 – Prowler, Kneon Knights; 1982 – Excalibur. RECORDINGS: Excalibur's "Run For Your Life". David is the lead guitarist of the band as well as offering his skills on  the bass, keyboard, lead and backup vocals. David is known throughout the club circuit as one of the top guitar players in Houston. The style to which he plays is that of a hard rocker that enjoys performing for audiences - the bigger the better.

David began his interest in music at the age of 8 with drums and piano. It didn't take long to realize that drums weren't his niche. He quickly moved onto the upright piano that was in his bedroom, as well as dabbling with guitar.

His father started his teaching with a handful of chords, and without any formal training David took off into a new world of music, exploring this instrument and making it the most important part of his life.

In 1978, "Prowler", David's first band, played their first gig at the Walden Yacht Club's Pool when he was about 17 years old. This was all the rush he needed to start his long career in touring the clubs and bringing him up to what he is doing now.

The new spirit and excitement of the current line-up gives David an extra boost of energy on stage that transfers to the audience, which from time to time, becomes part of the show as David walks through the crowd allowing them to observe up close his guitar techniques.

Doug Pritchard  Being an Army brat, I grew up in Europe from 1953-1967. I learned to play guitar and drums at age 12 during the British music invasion. Performing on stage in my first cover band in 1965, I was influenced by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Wilson Pickett, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Cream, Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Grand Funk, Heart - and the list goes on. In 1971 my band 'Katz & Jammers' opened for Sugarloaf at the Antonian Ballroom in San Antonio. After years away from performing I found my niche playing the bass guitar,  combining guitar & percussion. I enjoy very much lisening to artists like Diana Krall, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Vale, and Louie Prima.

I am a native Texan and I come from a musical family. My uncles and my older brother all played music professionally. My first experience performing was singing "Oh Shenandoah" solo in my elementary school talent show. I was nervous at first but after I heard the applause I was hooked. Next in junior high and high school I joined the marching and concert bands. I played trombone and went on to play professionally for a couple years but my desire was to play the piano and sing. It took me about 5 years but I taught myself to play piano well enough to join a band and then the real education started. That was about 20 years ago. I have since played in the groups Jason, Double Shot, Landslide, Party Favors, Sedan Delivery, 5th Avenue, September Sky, Tandem Flight and Little Queen. My influences have been varied; I really enjoy traditional country and new country music. I am a big fan of classic rock and Motown R&B. I also love the old standards by Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Etta James etc. I am a natural fit for a variety band because I pretty much love it all. For me its less about myself and more about what makes the audience happy while bringing out the best of the musicians and singers around me. When that happens - it's really fun !
